PLANNING YOUR VISIT
WORKING CLOSELY WITH WHIZZ KIDZ, ONE OF OUR CHOSEN CHARITIES, AND ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING TO MAKE OUR SITE MORE ACCESSIBLE
We have taken advice on a number of areas to improve the visitor experience and to provide you with the information you require pre-event to plan your visit, but please contact us if you require further details.
This outdoor events space is mainly comprised of mowed grassland, so it can be affected by the weather conditions. The public footpath along the river can become quite congested by picnickers and the volume of pedestrians, especially on the Friday and Saturday of Regatta, which are the busiest days. It is also an uneven surface.
The Meadows Reserved Parking and Picnic Area are on generally flat grass terrain with row 3 being on a slight slope. The Farm Reserved Parking and Picnic Spaces are on more uneven terrain with a natural incline/slope on rows 2 and 3. You are able to park your car and picnic next to your car in these areas.
Standard parking at Gate A is on flat grass with a short, flat walk to the enclosures and the river. Standard parking at Gate B has a gradient and is on a relatively steep incline down to the river across a public road.
We do not have designated disabled parking as there is plenty of parking available all along Meadows Standard to park near your chosen area. Parking is available directly behind all our hospitality enclosures at Gate A.
Gate B is nearest to The Barn Bar, Redgrave VIP and Shopping Village. It is also possible to get to our neighbouring venues of Remenham Club and Upper Thames Rowing Club if you park at the far end of the Gate B parking area. It is then a short walk down the hill and across the public roadway to get to these areas.
All customers are required to purchase a valid ticket, either in advance or on the day. Tickets purchased in advance are at a significant discount, so we advise pre booking online for the best prices.
For further details on how to access the venue click here.
Disabled cubicles are available wherever there are public toilets located within Temple Island Meadows (see event map). There are public toilets (no ticket for entry required) by Gate C, in the walkway by the side of the Shopping Village and at The Start. Each enclosure, bar or ticketed area has a disabled toilet provision, these are not for general public use, only for ticket holders of these areas.
Meadows Reserved parking and picnic area has a high dependency toilet unit which is also accessible from the Pavilion Enclosure. We recommend that if you are looking for a parking and picnic area to try Meadows Reserved or the Pavilion Enclosure as these areas are the most accessible on site with the luxury high dependency unit. You can get good views of the racing on a relatively flat grass surface and picnic by your car or enjoy your own private marquee and garden.
The Glebe campsite does have a disabled toilet provision, however the showers are standard shower units. We work with Showers on the Run, who provide two trailers which are manned during opening hours for assistance.

Here’s some comments from Whizz Kidz about their experience in the Pavilion Enclosure and the event in general:
“The day was absolutely delightful. Beautiful surroundings & beautiful people with parking just behind the Pavilion.”
“The Pavilion itself was perfect as we were separated from the crowds & yet able to enjoy the whole atmosphere.”
“The Toilet facilities were exemplary.”
“We also took a lovely walk along the Tow Path, and although slightly uneven, it was accessible on the Sunday. The ice creams we ate at the end of our walk were delicious too.”
“Honestly it was an amazing day which we’ll never forget, so please kindly convey our thanks to everyone involved in providing us with such special memories.”
