BREWED TO PERFECTION
IT’S TIME TO APPLY THE BRAKES DURING HENLEY ROYAL REGATTA.
The Thames won’t be all that is flowing during this year’s Henley Royal Regatta with Oxfordshire brewers Brakspears set to sponsor the bars at this year’s event.
Brakspears beers will be available from the all the waterfront public bars at Temple Island Meadows during Henley Regatta and the Brakspears Real Ale bar located within the Shopping Village.
Brakspears beers have been brewed in Oxfordshire for over 170 years and with the Regatta now in its 134th year, between them they share over 400 years of Oxfordian history.
The Shopping Village is free to access no tickets required!
Marketing Manager for Brakspears said:
“As a local business we are very proud to be involved in the regatta once again. A lot of people like to follow the river down as the races take place which can be thirsty work and it’s our pleasure to help them out every step of the way.”

Brakspear has played a key role in the history and heritage of Henley on Thames since it’s humble beginnings in 1771. Following the closure of the brewery in October 2002 production of the beer was relocated to the Wychwood Brewery. A £1 million redevelopment of the Wychwood site ensured that the brewing of Brakspear beers remained in Oxfordshire.
Today the brewery incorporates a separate Brakspear brewhouse and fermenting room. Much of the original Brakspear equipment from the Henley brewery has been used, including the famous ‘double drop’ fermenting system, used to brew Brakspear beers since 1779.
Brakspear beers, including Brakspear Bitter and Brakspear Oxford Gold, are brewed and supplied weekly to all the pubs in the Brakspear pub estate.
